Is this possible?
I have 17's stock on my truck - no problems.
Because these 17" tires are much more practical for a truck - if it's used as a truck?
Well, while it's a legitimate question by the OP, I also prefer somewhat descriptive subject lines. Just shows a little bit of respect and consideration to other members and their time by giving them the option to read it or not - based on interest. "Is this possible" does not quite qualify, IMO, as a good descriptive thread subject line.

If you mount stock tire size on stock 17" wheels you will be doing the same thing as reducing the gear ration by what ever the difference in tire diameter is from the stock 18" tires. You would have to measure the tire diameter differences to determine that. If in fact there is any difference by what ever amount it will have an effect on fuel mileage as well.
All of this will be negated if you mount over-size tires.
