Default Please Identify Part?

Got my first oil change yesterday at the dealer. Was a freebie and I will be doing my own from here in out. Was cleaning up the mess above the skid plate with a rag today and found this laying in tray. Small rubber cap of some sort about 1" long and says "moss cap" in it with a number 8 on other side. Hollow inside as if it goes over something. Anyone with help would be great. Thanks.

Not sure about the part but if you end up going back to the dealership to ask will you you tell them that the armrests are way too low and my eb doesn't get the mpgs that were advertised!

I wasn't complaining about anything. I realize oil changes on these are messy so I don't see your point. Just curious where this cap goes.

I was joking about your old thread and others complaining. Not you. Have you tried calling the service department that changed your oil. Maybe they can yell you where it slips on.

It's such a small little part I doubt it is anything of great importance but I am just very particular about things thus why the excess oil above the plate was driving me nuts just knowing it was there. I'll just swing by the dealer one day and show them. They wouldn't understand over the phone

Dealer says it is just a cap that covers the end of either a fuel line or other type of line prior to being installed on the truck at plant. Says they see them frequently. Guess they are shipped that way from whoever makes the lines initially so nothing can get inside during shipping. Then they just pull them off when installing on assembly line..

That's pretty cool! You should hang it from the rear view mirror and make everybody guess where it goes.

Its a moss cap. You put those over nuts and bolts that you don't want moss and/or algae to grow on.
