Platinum Pricing?
Hi! Newbie here... I'm shopping for a loaded Platinum. Can you help me with expectations for what I should pay relative to either INVOICE or MSRP price?
It appears that invoice price is, on average, about 10+ percent less than the MSRP. Ford is offering $3,000 cash incentives. My expectation is to pay invoice cost less the $3,000 cash incentive... should I expect steeper discounts than this?
Example: MSRP is +/- $49,000; Invoice is +/- $44,000; with $3,000 cash incentives I would pay $41,000? should I look for a better deal than this?
Thanks for your patience with newbie questions and sharing your expertise!

Many people including myself have got thier trucks for 20% off of MSRP. Some have done better, some not. I would expect to pay $39,200.00 + TTL for a $49,000.00 truck. But if you have a trade in they can mess with the numbers, so treat them as 2 seperate transactions.
Thanks for the quick reply... I am talking to a couple of local Dealers right now - this will give me a target price to shoot for.
Are there any forum vendors (Dealers) that have a history of selling to forum members at attractive prices?

Always make an offer you think they won't be able to expect... just to see how close they'll come. when they give you thier bottom price. offer $500 less. if they won't do it, give them your number and leave. you'll get a call that day... that is if you actually make it out the door. they want to see if you're actually willing to leave...otherwise they know they've got you and won't deal anymore.

TruckHog,
I paid 41,500 (43,575 "out the door") for a 2009 F150 4x4 Brilliant Silver Platinum with MSRP of 49,500. To me, each time I walk out from work and see it- it's worth every penny.. Hope you enjoy yours soon too.

Columbus - congrats on your '09 Platinum...I have a similar truck on order - and it should be arriving within the next week or so. Do you have pics you can post? What color interior did you go with the med stone or black (Sienna brown)? Your deal sounds about right as well...I'm seeing folks get 18% - 20% off (mostly in the 18% range).

Will work on the pics. I went with the stone interior, but also really like the black. As I have 3 boys, I figured I could keep the stone looking cleaner. The truck is GREAT, congratulations on your purchase.
