I had a 2001 Explorer and it had perimeter lighting under the side mirrors. I got my 2010 FX4 and it doesn't have the lights, but it does have indents where lights COULD go... My question, is it possible and is it easy to install and lastly what kind of lights should I get?

 

Good question and I agree. I do know the max towing package mirrors have those "puddle" lights you're asking about. Not sure if you can make them work in the regular mirrors though.

 

I don't know if it was on this forum or another, but I know I saw someone that added puddle lamps to his stock mirrors.
