Default Performance Could Packs

I am looking to upgrade my coil packs and spark plugs on my 2013 5.0. Any suggestions?

Ford performance has a set I've been eyeballing. Then again stockers have worked well and will be overwhelming suggested here on this forum.

What do you want your coils to do better than the stock ones?

Generally, if you were to install Accell, for example, your truck may run worse than it does with 150,000 OEM coils.

You will need to be more specific in terms of your expectations from an 'upgrade' to get suggestions that will be the OEM Motorcraft plugs/coils.

Assuming you are talking about a stock motor.

Yes stock engine. Why would it run worst with the Accels? I have installed Accels in customer vehicles with no issue. Just better gas mileage.

If you could get better gas mileage that easily, don’t you think Ford would have done it? Did you install a throttle body spacer on their vehicles to give them 50 more horsepower, too?

If you're talking about M-12029-M50C or M-12029-M50E, the Ford Performance coils are stock coils

The Accel's cost a little less and are just as good as stock coils. I knew this would be a loaded question lol! Thanks everyone for the replies!

If the stock units were somehow/someway underpowered from the factory, like they might have been 40 years ago, then sure, you can upgrade them, but it's just not the way coils work, you can't get a performance upgrade from correctly spec'd coils.

My customer would rather spend less for new coils. The stock coils are more expensive.

What price are you seeing for the Accels? You can get 8 stock coils for $326 from Levittown Ford Parts or for $376 from Jegs.
