Default people?

Today at work some jerk hit my passenger side rear view, smashed the mirror and jacked up the plastic housing. No note, nothing.
Fortunately for me, I work for a big company with security, and lots of video cameras. If the person gets found they are apt to lose their job, employer is not very tolerant of BS.
I just don't get how you could smack someone else's truck, OK not a platinum but still very nice, and not leave a note.

It doesn't matter if it's a Platinum or a XL work truck they damaged your property and should pay.

Now that I'm thinking about it,as the cops called for your hit and run? Reason I ask is that if the cameras do show who did it and he is caught couldn't the fact that you have a police not only make his insurance pay but also could hit him with fleeing the scene?

Ha! it is an XL, not really a work rig though. I'm Not going to involve the cops, just want the offender to pay for repairs. Now if security involves the cops that is their business.

I don't care if I had a '78 with rusted rocker panels and a sock for a a gas cap. It might be junk but it's MY junk.

Hope they catch the guy for you.

Happens, everywhere! My wife's Fiesta was scratched all to **** by some douche in a grocery parking lot. I'm guessing the cart had a run in with her back fender. No note, no nothing. So infuriating! A few days ago, it was really windy out and when I opened the door of my FX4, the wind caught it and it smacked the door of a co-worker's Focus. No real damage other than some scuffs that will buff out, but the first thing I did was tell him and offer to pay. Accidents happen, but people need to man up and make it right. Too many people don't give a crap about anyone else these days.....

In general, lack of consideration for others has become the new normal. However, I do have a good report on this front. A guy scraped the rear quarter panel of our showroom condition 13 year old SAAB and waited for the owner (my wife) to return from the grocery store. No other witnesses. She was in the store. He could've left, and we would have never known.

It isn't a new car, but it is enabling us to not have car payments, and that's pretty important to me. As was earlier stated, it may be a 13 year old car, but it's MY 13 year old car. Hope to be buried with that car.

I have had a couple instances where I backed into someones bumper or opened the car door too hard. After waiting on one guy to get out of the store he would not even take my info. This was a mini van and he laughed and said his kids would do more damage than that in one weekend. Thanked me for staying and sent me on my way.

The other one I backed into a a car pulling out of a buddies place one night. This was out of town a well. Left a note and did not here anything for about a week. Talked with my buddy and had him go over there to make sure they got the note with my info. Elderly lady said she saw me hit the car but since I left a note with my info she was not worried about it.
Sometimes just doing the right thing goes a long way!
