Default PATS delete

The PATS system in my 2010 is screwed up and not allowing me to start my truck. Has anyone been successful at having it deleted? Ive seen some places online that will do it if you mail your ecu to them, and some say it can be done with a tuner. I just want it gone once and for all. If I can do it with a tuner, I'd rather go that route since I plan on keeping the truck and could tune it in the future.

2010 F150 xl 4.62v

Thanks guys
Tim

Is it in the ECU/PCM? Starting in 2011 it's in the BCM.

On the 2010, the transceiver is connected to the instrument cluster. In stock form, the system is basically a three-way marriage between the PCM, cluster, and the programmed key(s).

You'd have to check with the potential tuner to see if they can do the job. Basically, they have to reprogram the PCM so that it always gets a positive response to a PATS interrogation ignoring the actual condition.
