Default Parasitic draw

Im dealing with what I believe is a parasitic draw on my truck. Im new to the forum but have read through most of the threads on this issue the last few nights. Thought I would just add mind to the list and hopefully get some help. A little backstory on mine. Ive got a 2011 f150, 5.0, screw, shift on the column, 4x4. been dealing with this for about a year. Its been to my mechanic and the dealer twice with no results. on my 3rd new battery. sometimes it dies sitting over the weekend, sometimes overnight and then sometimes it seems ok for awhile. I get no warnings or anything. The only thing that happens, other then battery is dead, is in the morning after jumper cables/battery charge is hooked up, sometimes my dash lights flicker, chimes go off. but still random at that. nothing consistent. I do recall one time that after charger was hooked up and i went to start, it cranked over by just putting the key in. I didnt even turn it. That has only happened once. Ive already checked some of the simpler ones I've read about; like no key in the ignition, no door open. no glove box lamp, no mirror lamp, no back up camera and the shifter is on the column so im thinking maybe not the park sensor. I started to go through my fuses last night but started to rain on me half ways through. did some more reading last night and realized i was probably doing it wrong anyways. I unhooked the negative cable and waited about an hour to make sure eveything was shut down but now realized when i hooked my meter up and completed the circuit again to start testing, that might have started everything up again? I guess i should get my meter hooked up and then wait? I appreciate any help with this. Im going to try and go through my fuses tomorrow when Ive got more time. Even though many of the posts on this issue seemed to be a few years old, I guess was hoping there might be some different answers out there. Thanks in advance and Ill try and keep you posted on any results I might have.

The alternator can trick the electrical system to go from hibernation to live, drawing down the battery quickly. Not saying that's your problem, but hooking up a meter letting it hibernate and check to see if it becomes active at some point.

Id first check each fuse to see if it's a constant draw. Simply use a screw driver to trip your door latch so you can leave the door open. Once it goes to sleep, start testing fuses.

I had the same deal happen to me (chevy. Changed out to another alternator. I punted and took it to dealer. It was the 100 amp alternator fuse. No idea it had it's own fuse.

its been awhile but wanted to update. my problem ended up being the sync system. i started having problems with the sync and realized when the sync was working, battery dead. sync not working then the battery issue was fine. pulled the fuse on sync and havent had a problem starting since.

Default Parasitic draw

I have the 02 5.8 model. Have had similar issues. I notice that when i open the door (no key in ignition) dinger and radio come on. Start truck and radio dies. CD player stopped working a while ago. I pulled fuse #8 (radio and door dinger), so far so good, no dash noise and battery not draining.
