Default Pandora & MFT???

Ok, I give up.. how do you get Pandora to function correctly with MFT?

I have a Droid Atrix 3G(?) and a 2013 F150 Raptor with MFT.

- It will only play through Bluetooth. The screen just says my phone name, with the back, play/pause, and forward buttons. If I use voice controls, steering wheel controls, or dash controls it will automatically start the media player on my phone and play both at the sametime.. if I use the touch screen controls it controls with Pandora 90% of the time.. but I want it to show the song name, be able to switch channels, etc like my cousin's 2012 can do..

- I tried using the USB cord and the truck will only play / control the media player songs on the phone. I tried starting Pandora before plugging the phone in and I also tried starting Pandora after the phone was plugged in.. it does not work either way. I even disabled Bluetooth on my phone and in Pandora.. still no dice through the USB cord.

Any idea's?

Have you done any updates lately? I was having problems using pandora with my Iphone though bluetooth, then it updated and was ok. Now it seams like my problem is back thought bluetooth. It will skip songs every 30 seconds or so but is ok though the usb.

Nope, I just started trying to use Pandora with MFT last week.. and I get the issues above.

MFT has the latest update back in January (3.5.something..) and my phone has the latest version of Pandora.

If you get an app called media button router it will help sort out your phone a little better.

The app essentially organizes what your inputs actually mean to the phone.

I think there is a newer ver of MFT than 3.5 but don't hold me to it, I have the old navi system. But the problem might be with features enabled or blocked on your phone vs the Sync system. If I disable the policy on my BlackBerry then I can use Pandora via Sync. If the IT policy is enabled it disables something, somewhere, that prevents me from using Pandora via Sync - I have to use it via BT also.

Thanks for the replies! ...on the way to my son's soccer game, the steering wheel & dash buttons magically started working with Pandora last night. I didn't get a chance to do or change anything, it just started working.

I still don't have the song info displaying on the screen, but I guess I can live with that.

Thanks, I'll have to go through my phone and see if I can find something like this.

My Galaxy Note II (Android 4.3) will not display Pandora song information when connected via bluetooth, but my iPhone 5 does.

How can you change Pandora radio stations??? MyFordTouch only let's me skip and play/pause songs.

Its more the phone hardware and software than mft or sync. My nexus only had limited Bluetooth functionality till android was updated. Now I have song info, etc over Bluetooth. Same reason the iPhone was working in the example above.

As for the OP and the 2012, does it have MFT? If it just has sync it might also have applink.sync applink gives even more control.

Hello kydsid,

This is great feedback. We're noticing a few phones out there that are beginning to channel the song metadata from Pandora to MFT. This appears to be a solely device-related function when used with the latest 3.6.2 software. Many phones are able to display song title/artist when streaming music that's physically stored on the phone, but most other audio apps haven't bridged that gap yet. This functionality will vary between devices.
