To much road rash around here for painted bumpers to stay painted, plain jane parts were put on low end cars and trucks years ago and don't last long in salt belt with out a lot of maintenance ,look and see how many small pin holes in the paint on the front end

Do what I did and get in a wreck. I had them paint the new front bumper. Also white plastidip matches Oxford White pretty well.

Here is what 5 Iowa winters plus 145k miles of driving will do to your painted front bumpers...

I'm having the same issues with my 2012 FX4 (Sterling Grey). Upstate NY winters and 85,000 miles mine isn't as bad as yours but I plan on repainting.

Why not just get it paint matched bedliner? Repaint is just a band aid waiting for it to come off again.

3M doesn't work at interstate speeds. Rocks still puncture through the film and let the brine start doing its damage. I had 3M on the 2009, it was rusting at 3 years and 100k miles.

It didn't happen all at once, it has been eroding over the past 15 months. I'm pulling it off this summer to get the color matched line-x.

man, I don't know where you guys are driving but around here I dont know anyone running the 3m clear bra with many chips puncturing through

I drive at highway speeds and have just a thick coating of plastidip over my bumpers and havent had a single chip in 2 years.
