I am actually slowly getting ready to do the same thing. I am starting with the rears as they are cheaper to get. Ebay, craigslist, or even on the classifieds on this forum are places to look. I just scored a left hand rear painted bumper on ebay for 40 dollars. It's not the same color as my truck so I have to paint it to match my truck which I am fine with. Figure it will be a good practice piece to test my painting on if nothing else.

I decided to try vinyl wrapping my bumpers, started with the front.
I went online and searched or some vinyl that closely matched my truck. My truck is Dark blue pearl. nearest vinyl I could find was Dark blue metallic pearl, and for $10 for a 72" x 20" roll, i thought I'll get 2 rolls and try it.
Wit it on te roll next to my truck it looked like an almost perfect match.... but once applied, there is a major color difference... gonna leav it until i can PTM my bumpers as it still looks better than chrome.

That looks like it would be a closer match to blue flame.
Myself, I found a used PTM bumper on Craigslist for $150 and had it painted. That part wasn't cheap. I am still searching for cheap used rear bumper.

I vinyl wrapped my bumpers with the 3M 1080 wrap. It looks beautiful but does get rock chips from the highways. Overall very satisfied with the application and color match on my tuxedo black XLT.
