Default P0720 Code - Output Shaft Speed Sensor

My 2011 Ford F-150 4x4 is throwing a P0720 code on my SCT programmer. The speedometer isn't measuring speed when driven and it shifts hard. I have seen on the older year models there is a speed sensor but I cant find it on the 2011 and there doesn't seem to be much info about this problem on the internet. Is this located externally and if so where? Any and all help is much appreciated.

http://www.fordparts.com/Commerce/Pa...rd&model=F-150

Part 7h150'in drawing is $33 approx, 6r80 transmission.

Scanning for codes should be first step.

Thanks Santa, that part appears to be an internal part, Do you think that is what needs to be changed or an actual sensor that is hooked to wires somewhere?

I would hope external wire harness. Tranny code might point direction, with missing signal or low voltage etc.

Ok back to the original question for anyone that knows...

Where is the output shaft speed sensor located on a 2011 ford F-150 4x4?

Sorry H-60 but that's no help. Please refer to original question, I know I have a OSS Sensor issue, I cant locate it and would like for someone that knows to be able to say where it is located on this model of truck that is 4x4 and verify if it in internal or external.

It is inside the transmission. Number 2 on the diagram. Sorry it's so small.

Thank you sir! You think this is a DIY or transmission shop project?

No idea. Ask RNLCOMP.
Looking at the troubleshooting, if it is not a wiring problem, the controller has to be replaced. That is a dealer job because you have to download the old one and upload to the new one.
