Default Ordering a 2011 F150

Hey Guys,
Ive been contemplating ordering a new 2011 FX4 or Lariat. I was told today by my dealer that to get a 2011 Id have to order by the end of March. After that it would have to be a 2012. Does that make sense? Seems kind of an early cutoff for ordering an '11.

the 2011's got a late start due to the motors. i am sure they will start this summer making the 2012's because folks will start demanding them.

Sounds to me like they don't want you to think about it much. It's call high pressure sales.

Hey guys, first-time poster, long time lurker. My local dealer has a dozen or so 2010's left in Feb 2011. Is the $500 late model year rebate the only discount I can expect for buying a 2010 model in 2011, or should I consider a bigger reduction from the invoice price?
I was thinking of offering $1500 below invoice, minus all incentives too. Am I out of line?

We'll I tried to buy a 2010 Platinum 4x4 fully loaded from a CA dealer just a couple weeks ago. They had lots of 2010's on the lot with 2011's there also. They agreed to $500 under invoice but I was looking for around $2000 under. They would not go for it so I walked. Been two weeks and from what I can see all those 2010's are still sitting there.. I was trying to get it for $44 out the door, I guess I have been waiting around for the phone to ring but not sure its gonna happen.

The more I sit around waiting, the more I'm thinking about just buying a 2011 Platinum with the ECOBoost or the new 5.0l. I really like the new instrument cluster, build in invertor and teloscoping steering.

Decisions....

I bought my 2006 Superduty in November of 2006. I got a killer deal on it. The salesman said that every day the truck sits on the lot after the new year, they have to pay some sort of fee to Ford. I don't know if it was BS, but I took the deal and ran! haha

Good luck to you guys. I hope to be trading my F250 for a new F150 in either 2012 or 2013.

You shouldn't pay anywhere close to sticker for a 2010. If I was going to buy 2010 it would have to be marked down 10k. I have seen ALot of them going for that price. The 2011 engines are so much better the dealerships want them gone before the 2011's are sitting side by side with them.

When I ordered my 97 lariat back in the day, it was just after March 96 and I got it late April as a 97 model.. Maybe they are correct. I have a ECO lariat on order coming as last of the 2011, might wait another month to get a 2012. More equity that way.
