Ordered 2013 F150
I don't know if I can hang on that long. Seriously this is starting to kill. I mean, I ordered my truck a month ago, and now the 13's are gonna be rolling around mid sept. So that's waiting a total of 4 months around there. I can't wait that long. Each passing week kills. And every ecoboost F150 on the road gets me irritated. I might as well say **** it and cancel it. And just get the F150 already at the shop. The screwed up 2012. Or i'll just go look into buying something else. One thing, I have terrible, i mean terrible patience. When its something so big and extravagant purchase, I want it done RIGHT and scheduled. Not pointing fingers at anybody, but whomever screwed up my build, thats a good way to scare away a customer and **** them off. I need my truck for work. I need something to pull a trailer with and carry. I actually have a use for this truck.
Hope this helps
Look in the mirror, and you'll see the one to blame. You didn't spend enough time and energy to learn the system before you ordered. Next time do it right. Here's how.
1. The dealerperson downloads and prints out a 2013 F-150 Order Guide, then gives it to you. Probably around 25 to 30 pages of detail. You take it home and build your truck on paper, listing every code and name for the items you want (and are willing to pay for), including the trim code. Be sure to include code C09 = priced DORA. DORA = dealer order receipt acknowledgment.
For me, I also want a copy of the price guide to determine is I really want to pay for that optional widget. The 2013 price guide probably won't be available yet, so I'd use the 2012 price guide to get a ballpark estimate of the prices of options that were available on the 2012 models. The dealerperson can print out a price guide from the new vehicle ordering system by mashing a few buttons.
2. The dealerperson using your list does a "test" order for your exact truck but uses a a "99" priority code so the order won't actually process. Then print out that order. You compare all the codes on that order to what you thought you ordered. Check every code. If you don't know what a code means, then find out. Probably simply use the Order Guide for the F-150 to learn all the order codes.
3. After the test order is perfect, then the dealerperson changes the priority code to 10 and submits the order. Your truck has been ordered. The dealerperson prints out an order confirmation. You double-check that order confirmation to be sure it has everything you thought you ordered, and nothing you didn't want to pay for.
4. One business day after the order was submitted, you go back to the dealer and ask for a copy of the DORA. The DORA tells you exactly what Ford has agreed to build for you. It should be the same as the order confirmation, but it may be slightly different. Plus it has all the prices you will pay for the various options and base price. Check it with a fine-toothed comb. If it's not perfect, the dealer still can make changes to the order for a short time. So you'll have wasted only a few hours instead of a few weeks or months to get the order right.
Now if the truck comes in screwed up, you can get angry at someone other than yourself. But by taking those steps, your truck will probably be exactly what you ordered. With the navigation radio included.

It wasn't that involved for me. I built what I wanted on Ford's website. Printed it, took it to the dealer, my truck arrived 6 weeks later exactly as I ordered it.
Are they doing anything on the price of '13? Like matching the price of the '12?
It's the dealer's fault for not ordering nav like you wanted. Or your fault for not telling them you wanted nav.
Either way, it will be mid September at BEST before you get your 2013.

After the 2013s are on the Ford website, you can do it your way, but I'd add at least getting a copy of the DORA and checking it out to be sure it's perfect.
Way back when, I ordered a new Ford from my nephew, who was the Fleet Manager at a big Ford store. But even though he had years of experience, he coded the wrong rear axle code. He had ordered the truck with open axle and I wanted limited slip. But I caught the error on the DORA, and he immediately changed the order to add the correct axle. So my truck came in exactly as I had ordered it. But if I had not checked the DORA, then 8 weeks later I would have had to decide whether to take delivery of that truck or order another one and wait another 8 weeks for delivery.
As BJ noted in his post, "normal" order and delivery time in the middle of a model year is about 6 weeks. But at the first of the model year, that time before production begins has to be added to that 6 weeks.
As someone else mentioned, your 2012 truck was not ordered and ready for delivery in 4 weeks. The dealerperson apparently found one that was already in the pipeline and tagged that order with your name. But he didn't do a good job of finding an order to change, because the one he found didn't have the navigation radio. Oops! My '99.5 SuperDuty diesel was in very short supply with long waiting lists, so I was lucky to get it in only 8 weeks.

There's gonna be hype. Probably some plant constipation with the new 2013 trying to slam them out quick for the people that want the latest and greatest. Sooo you're looking at mid-late september to early-mid october.
Flop for the 2012 and get some HID's in October and you'll see that ride by the end of July.

not sure on your financial situation but don't forget you won't get near the incentives on the 2013 that you could get right now (next week!) on the 2012. Could be a several thousand dollar difference, so please make sure you take that into consideration. Incentives are only able to be taken advantage of when you take delivery NOT when it's ordered.
