Only starts 2nd crank
For the past two weeks, when my truck has been sitting for more then a day, and I try turn the key to start it, it will not turn over, make a sound and then a loud clunk. Then I will try starting it for a 2nd time and it will start right up with no problems. And will continue to start up with no problems the rest of the day. Any one know why this is? Thanks!

You should probably rule out : battery condition/ starter wiring + all connections battery to starter.....My first impression was starter (& solenoid) is old & probably on it's way out....If mileage is say around 150,000 I'm probably right....compound this with living in a rust state/extra starts in your driving life style & age etc. ???

How old is your battery? Being a 13, if it happens to be your first I would certainly replace it. Even if #2, how old? 2-3 years of age I would consider replace.

Sorry guys, it's a 2013 f150 5.0L with 157,000 miles. I checked the battery, (it's new this year), it's fine. Thanks for the advice, I'm thinking it's the starter as well. It'll start fine for a day or when I've been using the truck a lot, but if it sits it will not first try.
