Default OK, I give up!

Can someone with a '10 Lariat please tell me if their parking lights come on every time they open a door, even if the dimmer dial is in the "Off" position?

The manual hints that all the convenience lights will stay off if you switch the dimmer off, and it does kill all the interior lights. But, the parking lights, front and rear, come on for about 20-25 seconds, day or night, for no apparent reason, every time a door is opened.

The same thing happens with my 2010 Screw. Doesn't really bother me, though.

OK, then that seems to be standard.

Now the question is, what is the possible purpose for doing this?

I go to the truck in my garage, open the door to get in, and the front and rear parking lights go on.

I just don't see any purpose to that happening. Any ideas?

I pulled my trailer today for the first time. All those lights come on also. It's called the Christmas Tree package. And it;'s free.

I've also noticed that the parking lights come on when I unlock the truck with the key fob; maybe it's to help find your truck at night in a parking lot??

Mine only does it in the garage or if dark. So it seems to be a night time security thing. They, the lights, do not come on in daylight

Default hello

its standard pretty much from 05 on . it was basically meant for when u get out of your truck in your driveway the lights stay on so you can make it to the front door . idk why they go on during the day but they just do. gotta live with it

I believe you can do some sort of sequence to disable it if you don't like it. Chrysler and GM products are capable of this - my 2000 XL suprisingly enough does not have that feature
