I'm very rarely going to take this truck "off road". I have a Jeep for that. I ordered the truck with the rear locker just for the cool factor. I know I will probably never need it. I wish I would have realized when I initially built the truck that the off road package included the locker and ultimately only would have run another 300 dollars. I know its not necessary but would have got me a cool sticker and some skid plates etc. Called dealer and they said its too late to change my order. Trucks not being built for 2 more wks so I don't understand why you can't but she is what she is. thx for the feedback.

Just buy the stickers, get you some aftermarket (RCI) skid plates, and call it good. The shocks suck, and anything pre-2013 did not get the hill decent widget anyways. Mine is a 12, and I dont have it. when I googled it to see what it actually was, the first ting I saw was complaints... so as far as im concerned, no loss.

I (my dealer and I) were searching for our truck before we settled on ordering and building it. One of the inital reasons for wanting the "off road" package was because I knew it required the truck to have 3.73s (3.55 was not an O.R. option till '13) and the locker... both of which I wanted for certain. It was easier for me to hide behind *having to have* that package than it was to try and get the dealer to cherry pick 2 small options... or attempt to get me to settle for "one or the other" ...or attempt to talk me out of both.

Default if you get the FX4x4 pakage

You get more interir upgrades than anythiing .... better wheels and fender flares , the suspension is the same as xlt .... for the extra money you can buy better aftermarket stuff cheaper than oem junk ... but the interior upgrades are nice to have .... power seats and peddles , and a better gauge cluster .....

Definately more interior and exterior "appeal" upgrades.

The differences not as functional as it is feel and look...

I have an XLT XTR and its bascially the chrome package with the side steps, chrome bumper etc... but I also have electric pedals and electric seats and the up to date instrumentation gauage. (as I bought off the lot, I would've got the rear window upgrade and sunroof)

the FX4s at least here in Canada, has a center console, leather seats, the tinted lights, appearance package (decals), Rims etc... but again other than those kinda things, its the same truck... as is a Lariat

I think those dealer add-on packages are a joke. They charge an outrageous amount of money, because they know you are going to finance it anyway. Just buy aftermarket and get better performance at a lot lower price.

The Off Road and FX package is a factory option, not a dealer install.

Or are you speaking of something else?

and BTW, you guys have some seriously cool stuff on your website.

Sorry used the wrong word...
A perfect example of this is I bought our shop truck used, a 2007 FX4, and after we got done with the build the only thing left from the FX4 package is the upgraded interior, I really like the full center console better than a 3rd seat.

Thank you for the compliment about our site. We are almost finished with our new site, that will include even more products and online shopping.
