Default An odd smell

Hello all,

For a few days after it rains, or on a very humid summer day, my truck has this unpleasant, mildewy, moldy smell to it. When I run the A/C the smell either mitigates or disappears altogether, only to be brought back the next day.

There are no leaks inside of the cabin. There are no leaks on any of the interior window seals (as far as I can tell). My truck's owner's manual makes no mention of a cabin filter, and I can't find one (I really don't think one is there).

I have neoprene seat covers, which show no signs of leaks. There is no carpet in my truck, it has a vinyl floor.

So, I'm at my wit's end, trying to figure out what the hell is causing this smell. I can't solve the problem if I can't find it.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

There have been several threads on this subject, at least on one of the Forums I read. Try doing a search. I would also look on FTE.

Look through this and find the thread " Strange Smell".

It sounds like it's time to get your dealership involved, Bret. What's your truck's mileage and model year? I'll see what I can do to help as well.
