P- rated duratracs
First post!!! Has anyone tried out the new p- rated duratracs yet? The weight savings over the e rated tires is very appealing for mpgs, and the load rating is higher then the stock Bridgestones...
I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on a set of 275/60r20 to go on my stock rims. Just want to hear some reviews on them first.

I just had a set of the "new" 275/55r20 Duratracs installed last Friday and I love them so far. Pretty quiet and the ride is the same as before if not better. I had The first generation Toyo Open Country AT before which replaced craptastic Pirellis. Of the three sets I've owned, the Duratracs cover everything I wanted: aggressive tread, capability, ride, and keeps the MPGs about the same. Can't speak of tread wear but so far I couldn't be happier. Wanted these tires for a long time but didn't want to change from the oem size. I plan to put them through some mud and yes snow this weekend up in northern Michigan and can't wait to see how they do. Got a good deal on the set also. Goodyear has a rebate going for them at the moment. Hope this helps. I know I struggled to find info on these new "p" rated tires before I got them since they're so new.

Very nice. Where did you buy them from, and what did you pay if I may ask? Thank you.

only con or negative I can think of is with a trailer hooked up (p-rated or passenger tires) is it will tend to be a bit soft on the side walls. where as a LT tire will be more sure footed or feel more stout when in tow. but I don't know and cant say that for sure as I don't have duratracs. but I did go with a p-metric tire over a LT that had a better weight rating and have kicked myself for not spending the extra cash and getting the LT tire.

sl, xl, c, d, e are load ratings. p, q, s are a speed ratings. the ratings aren't the same.

Thanks for the compliments! I bought the tires at my local Belle Tire. They actually gave me a better price there than Discount Tire. I do a healthy amount of business there with all my company vehicles. Paid $1,100.00 before the rebate of $120. I do tow a boat and the occasional trailer but not overly concerned with the tread wall and it being a "p" rated tire. Figure the lower profile would help with stability. Might be more of an issue with taller tires. Educated guess. Anyhow, that's my two cents.

I don't understand how these are "P-rated". Tire Rack has them listed for our trucks and they don't mention anything about a P rating..?
