Default Is this normal (hole in resonator)?

Ever since I installed the solo y pipe I've noticed I could smell the exhaust a whole lot more than before. Even right outside the drivers door. I checked all the connections which were tight so I decided I would start it up and look underneath while it was still cool. I found this on the face of the resonator pointed toward the engine. Just wondering if its normal. It seemed to be pushing out a small amount of air.
I'm also assuming the increased smell is normal....

Yes it allows condensation to escape from the pipe

Cool thanks. It looked too perfect to be damaged. Figured I would ask anyway.
