Default Noobie :)

Hello all! i sold my 2000 lifted Jeep Grand Cherokee (WJ) and jumped into the world of F150! I bought a 2009 FX4 back in september and have been slowly upgrading it. First i threw 2 tens under the back seat, and some new door speakers powered by a separate amp, then i blacked out all the windows and put on an after market grill. Now that spring is slowly approaching I'm wanting to lift it. I first wanted a 6 inch suspension lift, with 37 inch tires but after thinking about it, i may just go with a 2.5 inch leveling kit with 35s(?) to save on gas mileage and keep the ride somewhat nice since it is my DD and save money. Does anyone have any opinions or advice?

Welcome to the site! Nice truck. Leveling and adding bigger tires definatly gives the truck the lifted offroad look without having to put a lift kit on.

thank you! Ive been reading some post about leveling kit and 35 inch tires. Is this possible?? if so how much rubbing?? is there anyway of going higher than a leveling kit without putting a full blown suspension lift??

I have 33" on mine and there is some room but I've seen 34" on trucks but I'm not sure on how big you can go. As for the leveling kit, it's basically the only way of going higher other than the lift kit.

Thanks for the advice...If i did go with a 6 inch suspension, is there a decent priced lift thats durable and not POS? i went cheaper with my jeep and put a 4 inch suspension from rough country and although it did the job, i wasn't 100% pleased. a lot of rattles, and the rubber bushings on the shocks kept going out. I don't want to go cheap in quality with practically a brand new truck, yet don't want to drop 2500+ for a lift.. make sense??

I know rancho makes a quality 4" lift kit and BDS has a really nice 6" lift kit. It's kind of pricey but both are good lift kits. I think with the rancho you can fit 35's and the BDS you can fit 37's.

I have a 2 inch level and just fit 325/60 20's under my truck with stock wheels. they equal out to be bigger than a 35x12.50! 36.2x13.1. They rub a little but just on plastic I will be trimming tonight. I love the look and it still rides great. 35x12.50 should fit with minimal to no rubbing
