+/-25% of vehicle required air pressure. Having to much air will also set it off.

The sensors are sending individual readouts of each tire, they can even tell you the air temperature inside the tire, but the fords aren't programmed to read them individually and I don't mind cuz I hate having to reset sensors every time we rotate tires like on a Chevy.

I have customers all the time who got their tires rotated somewhere else saying "My vehicle says my left rear is low so I added air to it and it stayed on!" Check the air in their left rear its at 55psi and their left front is sitting on the rim cuz they were to lazy to inspect the rest of their tires and they didn't realize their sensors had not been reset at the last rotation.

I think ford does it specifically for that reason. People are lazy enough about checking their tires without TPMS enabling the laziness. This way you have to get out inspect them all and guess which one is low and inspect it.

Update the stereo and you can get this info and others from the OBD tap.

1) I'm pretty sure that on mine, it'll tell me which tire is low, as I've had this happen twice.

2) What years does OBD give you pressure readings? I'm mostly curious to see if something like a ScanGauge can do this.

The truck is a rolling pc and I'd rather have digital readout rather than analog......if I'm towing etc etc I'd like to see real time numbers instead of a damn needle that I have no idea what it's saying.

That's the problem most people do just drive the damn thing and pay no attention to how the car/truck behaves under certain conditions, which if you know your truck and the normal readings you can sometimes get the jump on a problem

For instance the MPG reading........some people just " drive the damn thing" but I play the " how high can I get the mileage game" lmao.

I looked for how to get a reading on the dash in the owners manaul after buying my truck and this is what I found:

TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM

WARNING: The tire pressure monitoring system is NOT a substitute for manually checking tire pressure. The tire pressure should be checked periodically (at least monthly) using a tire gauge.

On my 08 the sensor would come on if I had less than 40 psi or more than 60. Don't know about my 13 yet.
