Default No Horn

Was under the hood the other day and noticed that the bracket holding the horns was bent rear-ward pretty good to the point where the horn wiring was almost touching the radiator. So I gently bent the bracket forward slightly. Now my horns don't work. I checked the fuse and its okay. It does not appear that the horn wires are melted or anything from being close to the radiator...Any ideas? Thanks.

Wiggle the connectors on the horns. They should be spade connectors, and I've seen some fatigue to the point of appearing to be whole while not actually providing a solid electrical connection. One might be a shake away from completely snapping off. If all the connections are sound and there are no obviously cut wires, get a meter on it and make sure there's voltage coming in when the button is pressed, and also check continuity on the ground wire.

Default Similar Horn Issues

My horn wasn't working so I checked fuses and none of them seem to be broken. I disconnected the horn connector and reconnected the connector and the horn started working again. A day or two later the horn stopped working again. I disconnected and connected it again and it started to work for a few more days and then stopped working. I can repeat this process and I get the same results.

Is this an issue with the connector or the horn?

Thanks!

So one of my coworkers also has a F-150 and I hooked up my horn to his truck and it worked...So this may be a wiring issue? Are there any other fuses that the horn power may be coming through?

Considering the problem began immediately after you touched the wires...yeah, it's probably a wiring issue.

Well, I've made some progress...It appears that the horns ground through mounting bracket to the chassis. I hit the bracket and where it mounts to the chassis with a wire brush, and now the horn is operating a very weak, high tone only manner. The fact of the matter is that the horns are pretty corroded where they bolt up to the bracket itself. Ill put in a little more elbow grease and hit the wiring contacts with some dielectric grease and see how that works.

As mentioned above, clean the connector. Use a small file or something like that and clean the metal contacts on both sides of the connection.

Default No Horn

I have a 2013 Lariat scab 5.0. I just noticed my horn isn't working(I needed it the other day)...All of the switches are working on my steering wheel, and through out the truck.

The fuse is good. I checked the connection with a 12v test light, and no light. From reading many posts on this...everyone is saying its a clockspring? How much of a pain in the *** is it to replace this? Or could it be something else?
