New trucks are expensive!!!!

Trucks have also gotten nicer as the price has gone higher. They're not longer just "working man" vehicles. They're not just as luxurious as anything else on the road, plus they still retain the utility they had before.

Depends what options you need but my 2010 XLT 4.6 SCab new cost me a little under 20 Cdn after all the year end insentives as well as clunker cash on my old truck and the Costco rebate etc.
Only options were fog lights and keyless entry but for basic transportation, safety and utility I don't think there was a better buy to be had anywhere.
My buddy paid more for a 2010 Civic that he can barely get in and out of...lol

I didn't do any negotiating - just bought a few newspapers and picked a dealer that wasn't in a crap area of town. There was a lot of them selling basic XLTs with 1 or 2 options for about 24K down from 36K list and then the clunker cash was 3300 plus a grand from Costco and another 1500 from Ford financing which you can ditch onto to your credit line after making one payment. Mine was being built when I bought it; I picked it up about 3 weeks later and it had less than 10 miles on it. Same price range was available in the fall of 2011 but I haven't been following it lately. If you order something with a lot of options yeah it's gonna cost but a basic XLT is a nice enough trim level for a truck and it makes a good cheap daily driver all things considered.
