As a last resort I contacted the salesman this morning and he asked me to bring it out for him to see. He brought the sales manager out to look at it. They both said no way is this normal. I have an appointment with the body shop Monday after work. He said they would see what the body shop manager had to say but they felt it would be corrected one way or another. Can't wait for Monday.

i would also mention to the sales manager that you're online complaining about their service... and it is starting to make that dealership look pretty happy.

I told him I had started a complaint with the BBB and that I was waiting for some forms to fill out. I told him Ford Detroit told me to do that. I had never mentioned a dealers name or location in my pictures, videos or complaints. I told him I didn't want to file a complaint, I only wanted the truck fixed. He agreed that there should be no worries about getting it fixed, he said no way is this normal and the manager said he had never seen a crack like that before. He remembered me and knows how picky I am and he knows I didn't slam the hood. I told him I would not persue the BBB complaint, I only wanted the truck fixed. I feel this will work out for me.

And now let's hear a worthless comment from someone else on the matter.

Why is it whenever something breaks, everyone blames the dealer or manufacturer? Maybe you hit a bird or something... 9/10 denied warranty claims are because of operator error

He is blaming the manufacturer, rightly so, for a issue related to the build quality of the truck. He only wants his truck fixed, again for an issue out of his control. Clearly a bird did not hit the truck, as he would probably have heard that, and there is no other damage to the area around the crack.

What information did you base your 9/10 statistic on?

I went through something sorta like this on my 08... My AC condenser had a bad weld... That was leaking, but since there was a bird feather on the condenser, They tried to get me to pay for it and the diagnosis.

I was away and my buddy was the one dealing with them, When they called me i told them to do what they had to do to get it fixed, But the truck had 3900 miles on it and i wasn't happy.. And if the AC condensor couldn't handle a bird... I didn't need the damn truck. Told them to put the old condenser in the bed of the truck along with all old parts they were replacing... And i would eat the core price.

When i got home and inspected the old condenser... There was not a bent fin on the thing. There was just a coil that had a connection leak . Luckily for me my insurance paid for it, And i told my agent the story and he came and inspected all the parts. And said he was going to go after them.... Never heard anything else. But that dealer took me for a few other deals like that before i got away from them.

hunter is a pretty good guy on here...

and hunter... I've seen this sort of thing.

the day i bought my truck and when the sales lady NICELY closed the hood.... it still rattled like a fat man jumping off a diving board. i have always planned on changing it out before it breaks so ill have a 6 bar chrome on the side in case i take a bird at 70mph.
