New tires soon...
I went from stock tires to the Toyo at2s when they first came out. It has been a great tire for the most part. Looks awesome. Super quiet, great ride, but they now have around 40k miles on them. The siping is going away and so is the traction in the rain. We have had a few snow days here in ga and they were not so great in the snow. My daughters FJ with BFGs was incredible in the snow. That thing was like a tank.
Anyway... I like the look of the new KO2. Have any of you guys went from the AT2 to the KO2? If so I am interested in how they compare in ride, noise and traction.
I have 275/65/20s. Thinking about dropping to a 275/60/20. Mainly because I tow a boat a lot and the gearing is a little high with the 65s. Not bad but not near as good as it was with the stock size. The 65s sure look better. It is always a trade off. Maybe I just need a tuner
Any thoughts are welcome.

I can't necessarily give you a comparison between the AT2 to the KO2, but I'm one of the relatively small number of people running the KO2s now; I got them installed on Monday.
I previously had the stock 20" Perelli tires and was really unimpressed with them; they would slip like crazy in anything but the absolute best on-road conditions. I'd wanted to make the jump to a larger size and a level, and it's been raining a lot here recently, and I'll be driving up to the Rocky Mountains soon; I finally just got fed up and said screw it.
I had the 285/65/20s (34.6x11.2x20) installed on my factory rims, and at least around town the difference is huge regarding street-ability of the truck. I have 3:73 gearing, so the power impact was negligible. I've noticed it not wanting to shift into 6th as often, but it's really not all that bad. It's been raining almost all day since, and I've yet to spin the tires/force traction control to engage even after stomping on it from a dead stop; I also don't think this is a result of the motor not being able to turn such large tires.
Bottom line, in the limited time I've had with the KO2s they're probably the best AT tire I've run (to include Nitto TGs, BFG AT KOs, Pro-Comp ATs, and Mickey Thompsons). That said, I have yet to run them off-road, but I have to think they'll be pretty decent. I was always happy with the original BFG AT KOs off-road (keeping in mind they're not a dedicated Mud Terrain), so I can't imagine these will be any worse.

There was a minor uptick in the level of road noise, but that's to be expected over the stock tires to something this aggressive. I can't imagine it's anything worse than what your AT2s, at the very most I'd bet it would be within a 10% range; they're certainly not Super Swampers or anything like that.
While driving on the highway after leaving Discount Tire (doing 70-75), I turned off the A/C and the stereo system to listen, and wasn't sure if I was hearing increased tire noise or it was just wind noise.

Subscribed, so many choices to consider, I just bought a set of Aftermsrket 20's and row in the summer and as much as I want a wide and heavy MT, I'm just worried about the practicality for everyday day use. Also I've mulling over the 275/60r20 size, I have a 2" level and 3" block but am worried about being too small, as well as there is quite the price difference between the 60 and 65 height!!!
I love the look of my 65s but they do hit the gas bill and they do rob a little power. Many say it isn't very much but most of that is denial. .
I think 60 s are the more practical choice for a larger than stock tire but the 65s sure look good.
I have a 76 Bronco lifted with big tires to fill that big tire itch...

Just leveled my fx4 and went from the pirellis to 285/65/20 ko2. I don't drive my truck daily and haven't put many miles on it yet. I didn't notice any road noise around town, slight loss of low end torque (3.73), and they do ride a bit stiffer but nothing to complain about. On my first drive with them I noticed they were slinging rock salt.
I will say this... They are border line pizza cutters in this size. That said, I chose this size for better handling in the snow.

Can't really do a comparison other than to the stock crappy Scorpions, but I just had the K02's installed, 275/60/20 and I've put about 200 miles on them. Aggressive looking tire and surprisingly quiet. A bit more firm but that may be a tire pressure issue.
I went from C Load 275/65/18 Toyo AT2 on my FX4 to 275/55/20 KO2 on my king ranch. Snow traction and rain traction are significantly better. I don't notice any difference in road noise, and the aggressive sidewall adds some looks. I stayed stock size to keep from going to an E load, and stayed with a D. I will probably continue to run the KO2 on all my vehicles, as gas mileage hasn't suffered. I have the AT2 on my 4runner right now, and when they're worn out I'll be replacing with the KO2 as well.
