Default New strut question

I decided to replace my factory shocks & struts after I had ordered my spacers. I probably would have done the Rancho Qlift if I would have thought this out more.

Anyway, so I now have a set of Bilstein 5100 front struts and a set of Skyjacker 8000 rear shocks. I have the 2 inch spacers and 3 inch lift blocks with all new hardware.

My question is: Should I use the spacers up front and set the Bilsteins at stock height or should I just forget the spacers and adjust the 5100s up to their highest setting?

It would depend on how high the bilsteins are supposed to lift it.

Might ride a tad better with the spacers on top of the bilsteins on "0". That way you dont compress the stock coil spring. Just a thought.
Personally, i would just set the bilsteins at "2" and call it a day.

I am leaning toward using the spacers with the 5100s set on the lowest setting. That should keep the spring travel near stock and take advantage of the full range of damping with the shock. Heck, the whole thing has to come out anyway so I might as well just use all the parts I already have.

Ahh...well then 2.25 instead of 2.

Wonder why they didnt do 4 settings for the earlier ones. I know they had 2 and 3 setting ones. weird. guess a bunch of people complained about not having more options.

i used the stock struts with a spacer and then put the 5100s in the rear. i may do a rear block.

some guys have seen failure with the 5100s in the front on the highest level. i would be cautious. they tack weld the eyelet on.

I saw the post where the eyelet had snapped off. I think I will go with the stock setting (0) and use the spacers. Does anyone know which way to orient the offset in the spacer? Im thinking that it should go toward the engine. That way the strut assembly itself would be shifted slightly away from the centerline of the truck. Does this make sense?

yes...you want the strut to lean in towards the truck.
