Hi, everyone -
Early testing showed the same performance as previous iOS firmware levels for both SYNC Gen2 v3.6.2 and SYNC Gen1 v4.2.1.
Now that the official iOS7 software has been released, engineering will be re-verifying compatibility across all of the following iPhone models against the latest SYNC versions:
• iPhone 4
• iPhone 4s
• iPhone 5
• iPhone 5c and 5s
I've passed along your feedback and will continue to do so, please keep it coming.
If you're having an issue with pairing your phone, I recommend removing the previous SYNC pairing from your phone's Bluetooth menu, deleting it from the system and trying it again. Also, ensure you're running the latest software by checking your www.Support.Ford.com account for an available SYNC update.

What's the word on iOS in the car? I've read that Ford is very interested in it.
If there's anything that will make me trade in my truck (2011) this is it. I love my truck in every aspect....but iOS in the car would make me turn my back on it in a heartbeat. lol

How much does the dealership charge to update my 2009 sync? I've been having issues lately and just got the 5s. It won't even pick up my sync on my Bluetooth. I don't know what the deal is... It always seems like my sync is so finicky. I'm assuming because it's a 2009 and they've probably improved it since. Can I get things fixed with a simple flash update? Can I do it myself?

Under the Sync connection on your iPhone bluetooth settings, make sure notifications are turned on. Ford's directions: http://support.ford.com/sync-technol...c-myford-touch
It doesn't work

It never gives me the option to turn on notifications on my iPhone.
Not on my iPhone 5 with iOS 6
Not on my iPhone 5S with iOS 7
Not on my old iPhone 4 on iOS 6 or iOS 7.
Dealer says it's an Apple thing but it's clearly not.

I think text option is only available on myford touch, it's not an option on my phone on my xlt, which doesn't have myford touch.

You can check your support.Ford.com account for an available software update or PM me your VIN and I'll take a look. For the concern you're having, I recommend removing SYNC from your phone's Bluetooth menu, performing a master reset on SYNC and pairing your phone again:

The iPhone is not compatible with the Gen1 (non MyFord Touch) vehicles.
For a list of phones that support text messaging on this system, check out our compatibility chart:
