Getting my new (old) dynomax 3 in race bullet put on my truck. Took out resonator and replaced with 3 inch pipe into stock tailpipe.

How much.. im thinking of doing the same but with magnaflow muffler... but not sure of what pricing will be. is it single in dual out? where is your tailpipe(s) going to be at/angle?

Single in single out. Kept stock tail pipe. Instead of cutting the flange, I had them remove the resonator and leave the little piece of pipe between y pipe flange and resonator and then step up to 3 inch pipe straight into the muffler and the welded the muffler straight to stock tailpipe. So basically I have a 3 inch cat back with a bullet muffler. It was $115.00. I provided the muffler ( I had it left over from a mustang race car). They fabbed new hangers and it's all good. No drone in can not to loud really unless you get on it. Nice rumble at idle. I'll post some pics later.

This way if I really don't like it I can always go with a cat back later. Or just get another muffler welded in.

I also left just enough pipe after the y pipe flange that the dampner was left on. So I do t know if it helps with drone (probably not) but anyway well see.

I have dual out so I will have to get new piping done.... im thinking of doing 90 degrees behind each tire or straight out the back... not sure which one or screw it, I might go with both tips out behind rear pass. tire. Im going to tell them to take out the resinator.. only purpose of is it reduce engine noise right? I want my 5.0 to be as loud as I can get it - haha. Ya man, show me some pics. Thanks.

Thats got to make some noise. I have a similar setup but with a 14 inch magnaflow, and its not whatwu would call quiet. Mine is dumped over the axle

Don't get me wrong you can tell its there I just thought it was gonna be ungodly loud. But it's not it's very deep. Now at WOT it's really loud. But cruising around its just deep and throaty. It doesn't drone more than my Borla did on my last truck and at 100 bucks vs 1300 im happy.

Do I need to reset the ECM by removing battery cable after the exhaust change?
