Default New member 4x4 help please

Hoping to get some help from someone. My issue is on my 2013 f150 eco. Turn 4x4 selector to 4wd hi or lo and get check 4x4 message. Locking diff still works just 4wd does not. Checked vacuum at hubs and got it there. Replaced t case shift motor still no joy and replaced 4x4 vacuum shift solenoid and no luck. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like your solenoid is working, but I think there's like 3 fuses relating to the 4X4 system, check them all, then let us know what the code is.

There usually is with any message, especially if it is still showing. Do you have forscan or an app to run diagnostics?

there is likely a code if you got a message . I a agree with john that your solenoid is working right. if it wasn't the locking differential wouldn't work either

I pulled this up for your PO54a code.

And this for your PO299 code, could be something as simple as a sensor.

You didn't mention if you had a "check engine light" on, so likely these are "pending" codes. Did the kid clear them? Is the engine running good?
I'm not educated enough to help you trouble shoot, but if you go to the "Maintenance" forum, there's some pretty good guys that hang out there.

A code reader does nothing for you, you need someone with at least forscan to see each module, a lot of errors don't throw a cel code, which is the only thing a code reader will pick up.

No check engine light truck seems to run fine. Its pretty cold here in wi idk if that would have anything to do with the codes.
