Default a new idea

im not sure if anyone has tried this but i want to, here in alaska we dont have very good fuel like in the states, 87 regular, 90 is our premium fuel.
I just found out a station near me is now selling AVGAS. if i filled up and mixed 5 gallons or so of AVGAS it should boost me up to about 95 octane. i know it will plug the cats, which i am planning on deleting anyway. question is will it make a improvment? will it harm anything?

Av gas is a very dry gas we ran it in my dads jet boat running 12.5 to 1 compression with marvel mystery oil to keep things lubricated since the av gas is so dry... I really don't recommend you run it in your truck but maybe someone else has more for sight in this than I... Older carbed engines? Hell ya all day

I wouldn't. I'm sure there's a race track up there somewhere. Buy race gas and blend it if you like.

why wouldnt you? because of how dry it is? if i just mixed a little bit and put some marvel in it, it wouldnt be very good? race gas is VERY expensive here. i can get avgas for about 5.30 a gallon race fuel is almost 7

Akray, I thought the EB was tuned for 87 octane. Am I wrong here?

If it's 100LL you really don't want to introduce lead into your truck's fuel system.

Ok so avgas is leaded? And race gas is unleaded?

I forgot to mention that I'm pretty sure all av gas is 100LL so ya even though its low lead I just don't think it'd be a good idea... We're talking bout running it in a twin turbo direct injection motor I just don't think it will go good

Ecoboost is 87 Octane that is the requirement unless you have a custom tune for higher do not use AV Gas
