Question New F150 Decision Help

Hey Everyone,

I have been browsing this forum for some time now and finally ready to pull the trigger on a new F150. I have somewhat of a dillemna so seeking advice from the best source i know!

I walked in to Ford last week looking for a fully loaded 2013 Scab STX 4x2. They had several on the lot and I really liked them. With rebates and xplan, they were able to get me down to $24k (MSRP 32.5k) for the truck which I was ecstatic about! As we were walking in, I saw a brand new 2012 Screw Lariat 4x2 with the 157 WB on the lot and they were looking to get $29k (MSRP 40k). I don't necessarily need all the bells and whistles and it is a slightly larger truck, but man was she a beaut. I am planning on going back tonight and making a decision, but I am torn between a sporty looking truck vs. a luxiourous truck. For obvious reasons, I am leaning towards the Lariat but was looking to get others oppinions on whether I am correct in thinking that it is an excellent deal for a leftover 2012?

Thanks in advance and I look forward to seeing yall more around the forums!

Cannot beat a Lariat. I have had all models of F150's and for the money Lariat is way to go with all standard features on them.

I drive an XLT for work, and a 2013 Lariat for home...
i gotta say, the Lariat interior is sweet !!! a little luxury added to the practicality of a truck never hurts !!

Agree with kgpat and ecopat, without the big spread in dollars and I am guessing not a pure work truck, you will enjoy the luxury on the long hauls.

For the additional 5k I'd go for the lariat hands down. You'll thank yourself in the long run. Re-sale value will be better too.

Love my Lariet, wish it was a 2012 and not a 2010 but that just means it will be paid for 2 years sooner...

Thanks for the input everyone. I was leaning towards the Lariat because of the small difference in price. It really is a good looking truck and would be hard to pass up that deal. It seems like both would be a good deal but the Lariat would be a much easier resale (although I hope I hold onto it for a long time!)

I can't believe they are only 5k apart. Wow.

Get the lariat.

Or get a fx/2 with luxury package etc and then you get the look, and the options.
