Default New engine install

I have a 2010 f150 xlt 4.6 90000 km. Was getting strange ticking noise in engine for while now. So Monday I brought the truck into dealer they said the engine was gone. Something with the bearings they are putting in new engine. It going to take couple weeks at least they need to
Order the engine. My question is what comes with the new engine will they use anything off my old one?

You should be able to get a print out of the materials and labor for the work to be performed. From there, you should be able to determine what will be replaced and what will be reused.

Care to elaborate on what exactly was the issue that required you to have an engine replacement?

Wow, a new engine under warranty? Sounds great, but what engine will they use? 5.0?

I would think with 4.6 and 5.4 engines still under warranty, they will still have some available.

Default Not sure on problem

I don't know what was wrong with the engine. She called said it needed to be replaced and they are ordering one. Said something about the bearings. I was thinking They give me 4.6 never thought on them not having one. Also would a 5.0 fit with no troubles?

Assuming you didn't get an extended warranty your power train warranty is up in probably less than a year! Good timing! Now you will have a brand new (hopefully) engine that will extend the life of the truck even further
They will put a 4.6 in the truck, they should keep 5.4's and 4.6's on limited production runs to meet warranty claims until at least the 2015 model year when F150's of that generation will be outside of their power train warranties.

Your dealer is in the best position to give insights on your inquiry, jamienfld. Please PM your VIN, full name, daytime telephone number, and dealer info; I’ll get your regional customer service manager to assist.

They will probably use the intake, alternator, A/C etc. from your old engine. By new engine my guess is they only mean the block, and internals. I'm may be way off bass though, but that how it used to be.

Got truck back after 3 weeks sounds awesome brand new engine no more ticking. On work order says the crank bearings were scored and found filings in base pan. Checked timing chain tensioners found gaskets blown out causing oil pressure lose. It runs like a dream now.
