Default New Ecoboost Purchase

Let me start by saying that my name is Cole, and I am addicted to shopping for new F150's.

I'm in the works on signing for a new '14 FX2 Eco from College Station Ford. Here are the juicy details...

They offered $23k on my current truck:
-'12 F150 XLT 4X4
-Plus, Chrome, Tow
-39k Miles
-2.5" level & on 35s

The truck I'm looking at is a fully loaded FX2 in white, with a sticker (top MSRP) of $49,500.

After some back and forth, they came down to $33,050 on the truck.

Think I'm leaving anything on the table or is this about as good as it gets?

I just bought my first ford last May, a 2012 Lariat Screw 4x4 and I honestly don't know how I went without the 4x4.
Sounds like a nice truck but I would not got from a 4x4 to a 4x2. Congrats on the purchase.

Well sounds like good numbers on the trade 9K off sticker on the new one sounds really good too. I don't think there is much more to get, other than your trading a 4x4 for a 4x2. Personally I would not get a truck without 4wd if for nothing else than resale value down the road but that's just one mans opinion. Lol. Post pics when you get her!

My last two trucks have been 2WD. I drive all over TX on and off road for my job and have never been in a situation where I absolutely had to have 4WD. I have used the ELD twice and got out of the situation I was in with ease. We don't have snow and all that craziness in this part of TX so I don't see the point of buying a 4WD truck unless you absolutely want it. More parts, more weight, less MPG, etc etc. Not necessary to me.

$16k off MSRP is a smoking deal. The dealers here in Austin are usually at about 10-12k off last time I checked, but now that the 15's are out, they may be coming down more. Trade in seems good too. Sounds like a damn good deal to me!

I didn't think an fx2 would be that high. My FX4 that is fully loaded with all the options had a sticker of 49k also. Either way 33 sounds pretty good though.

Maintenance costs and gas mileage costs outweigh resale value for me. I have a 4x4 because I need it, but if I didn't have to deal with snow, ice, and treacherous hunting trails, I wouldn't get one. Good deal.

Thanks for the feedback, guys.

I'll post pics tomorrow after we finalize the numbers and I sign. I've actually had it with me for an "extended test drive" since Saturday.

I loved the look of my 4x4, but I was tired of 10MPG (no exaggeration) and not fitting into any parking garage. Yes, both my fault but hey I wanted the look.

Pics as promised. Ended up back around 35k with warranty and paint protection but got my rate down to 3.89%. Not bad for my first truck signing by myself.
