It would be minimal on MPG, but being an inch larger in diameter will definitely take your rear end gearing down a tad. 3:73's will be more like 3:55's.

I swore I wouldnt go bigger than 275/60/20 when I need new tires, before next winter for sure.
But now those BFGs....and the Toyo AT2 keep calling me in the 285/55/20s
Don't need the LT tire in either, gonna take a hit in mpg with either, could definitely use the traction the more aggressive tread has....
One thing the BFGSs are is pricy tho,$400+/tire
$50+ a tire more than the Toyos....
Availability of either up here in bend me over Canada who knows...
Thankful I don't have the need for them right away cause I'm torn

Gonna bump this thread on up... Now that you've had them on the truck for a few months are you still satisfied with your choice? I've found a killer deal on a set of these at a dealer as take-offs and am going to pull the trigger this weekend if the report is good. I had Trail Grapplers on my last truck and swapped them out for Terras, so in-cab noise is definitely a big concern for me, followed by mileage.

I love BFG ATs. Had them on my 86 Bronco, then on my 2001 Dodge Ram, and as soon as the stock tires wear out on my new 2013 f150 I will put them on again.
Keep them rotated ( I did it with every oil change) and they will last a long time.

I've had the same BFG 285/55 20's on my 2010 screw 4x4 for a year now. Approximately 20k miles. Love the tires! They are wearing very even and still have a lot of tread left. Definitely worth the money!
