Default A new 2010 Lariat anyone??

While checking out Galpin Ford's new 2013 inventory, as I do each day; I just noticed that in addition to 200+ 12's, and one remaining '11, they also have one 2010 truck on their lot, still unsold.

A Black 5.4 Lariat, Plus Pkg. w/40-20-40 seat; built 12/12/2009! That's nearly 3 years, sitting on the dealer lot.

It's a 2X, Styleside w/o a lot of extras, so that may explain why it hasn't sold? Having said that, I am surprised there are still some [new] 10's lingering around!?

Wow! You'd think they would have given it away by now.

And he is still showing it at sticker price? Back in 1992 I bought an '88 Mustang GT 'vert brand new but it was the dealers daughters car. She drove it on dealer plates for almost 4 years then I bought it with 23k on the clock and a free extended warranty.

Jeeze if I lived in your area and was in the market for a 2010 I'd be all over that. I bet they'd swing real low to move that thing off the lot.

I wonder why a nice vehicle like that never sold. It just doesn't make sense. He must buy the vehicles outright from Ford instead of on consignment, because he'd have a pile of money into that thing by now. I worked at a Chrysler dealer years ago and we had a 1986 Laser on the lot well into 1988. The owner of the dealership bought all of his inventory outright, so it went unnoticed. It finally did sell along with a few incentives and discounts, but we couldn't believe that we could have overlooked a vehicle that long.

Would anything be wrong with it after sitting that long?

I'd be kind of leery of buying it. Like the old saying goes, if you don't use it you'll lose it!

make them give it a full service before you take it home and make sure the warranty stuff is all squared away and I think it would be fine. There are people using and abusing 09/10 Fords and they are doing fine. I cant really believe sitting on the lot would be real detrimental to it.
