Default Needle in a haystack, new winter wheels

So my 2011 Limited came with color matched 22's which I love. I inherited a set of 17" 2005 chrome wheels with W965 Blizzak snow tires when I bought the truck, they have served me well the last two winters but they are UGLY.

I've debated on what to replace them with from Raptor 17's to FX4 20's, never thinking I could find another set of '11 Limited 22's locally and shipping would be killer to buy a set off Ebay to AK. Well I found a set locally on CraigsList, he started asking $2k I watched them for awhile and he came down to $1,499 so I contacted him and offered $1k and he took it. 4 wheels, center caps, lug nuts and two good factory tires I can sell since I don't need them. This fall I'll install my TPMS and buy a set of Blizzak DM-Z3 275/50R22's to wrap them in. Now it'll look good no matter the season.

Wow, Would not have expected to have that find in Alaska!

I know right? Funny thing is there is a bunch of these trucks here in town. I know of at least 6 others then mine in a town of 300k+ people, with 3 of them living within 3 miles of me. They made 3,700 and I swear sold a ton of them up here. It happens every few weeks when i'm out running around that I park next to another '11 Limited. When I travel down south I never see any, anywhere!

Now time to get those heads updated!

I'm glad you can ditch the winter wheels as they looked like poo and I imagine you ran those a good portion of the year up there!

Glad you found a solid solution!

That's awesome! I'm looking for a second set myself, just bought the truck this week.

I didn't know "summer wheels" existed in Alaska!

Good for you man. Nice score.
Seeing your truck for those 3/4 months with the winter tires was agony for me...I can only imagine how long it felt for you!

I had bought these in 2012 for my 2005 for only $500 dollars and kept them when I traded her in.
The plan was to make them my winter tires for the 14.
I missed this winter. I'm not missing the next one.

Nice score yourself, I saw a few sets of those go by but I wanted to hold out until I found what I wanted.

I need to pick up the new tires since my local dealer has two sets left of the DM-V1's and swap in my TPMS still.

I swapped on my summer wheels/tires a little early this year...got hit with some snow and the Terra Grapplers SUCK.

I remember when you posted that. It was like a week or two later...I think?
But of course it snowed. Probably had them nice and clean inside and out too.
I rotated mine myself and cleaned the inside of them thoroughly, last week. Snowed 2 days later. At least no salt this time.

Yup, before I put them on it had been nice and I had the hose out and washed them inside/out. It's snowed twice since putting them on, I just park the F-150 and drive my Excursion which I left my studded snow tires on and it handles ice/snow like dry pavement.
