Disconnected my negative terminal last night and it has done the trick so far. Weird! Chris

I ditto everything you say here. My truck is at the stealership right now and I'm picking it up in the morning since they had it for 4 days now and "fast Eddie" just called me and gave me the "look for an update" line of crap.

I've never seen a GPS component connected to anything but an antenna, that's how Global Positioning works. I don't want the truck to make assumptions as I'm driving down the road...just use the darn GPS antenna and tell me where the F I am. It's a PITA as it constantly has to reroute because it can't even keep up with the map.

Obviously something is going on with MFT and 2013s.

My dealer is clueless and is just giving me the standard "look for an update in the future" but isn't really acknowledging the issue.

How do I complain to Ford directly?

this is called AGPS, and it doesn't belong in a vehicle like this.

My next step will either be a lawyer or just go somewhere else to get the speedo calibrated for the lift.

This stealership guy actually tried to tell me it was the "steering wheel angle sensor and the ABS sensors that are effecting it because of the lift." The lift that THEY installed (their subcontractor) at purchase.

So, perhaps Ford is using the speedo to help with location and that is why the GPS is off? Not sure.

My software is up to date, but my speedo is not calibrated so I'm not sure what is the issue.

Anyone else having this issue? Or is it only happening to 2013s with My Ford Touch?

Plenty of guys have had the speedometer re-calibrated for larger tires, that shouldn't be an issue.

As for the GPS, you can either keep trying to fight them or just do the battery fix. It works and it isn't worth my time and aggravation fighting Ford over it. My understanding is that they are aware of the problem but have no fix. It works and I don't care why at this point. At least you will have a usable GPS again.

Hopefully they will come up with something.

This morning I had some 275/60/20's put on my truck and the navigation ended up all screwy. Thanks to seeing this thread a few days ago I knew what to do to fix it. I unhooked the negative terminal for a couple of hours, and she's good as new.

The battery fix works initially and then goes back to not working. It's a bandaid then you have to do it again. Who wants to pull the car over during a trip to do this?.

I just picked up the truck and the guy actually gave me a copy of the correspondence from the black hole the stealership calls a hotline. They talk about the steering wheel angle sensor being a key contributor to the gps working, lol.

Anyway, it's works a little better, all they did was enter the larger tire size in there. The speedo is still.off so my belief t
Is that Ford engineering needs to pull their heads out of their black holes and figure it out and send out a fix once and for all. It's livable with it as it is but we shouldn't have to since we paid for it. I mean, why should we have to live with a poorly designed system that tries to anticipate where you are going and constantly have the navigation recalculating because it's always assuming wrong? That's a rhetorical question.

I agree with you. How long did it last after disconnecting the battery?
