I'm saying 3000 miles away from somebody you can call that you know who will come help you, as opposed to asking for help on the cb from someone 1/2 a mile from you.

Statistics say that you are 67% more likely to have an accident with another passenger vehicle, and there is a 62% chance you will be at fault if you ARE in an accident with a "large" truck. But the good news, the fatality rate is much higher in said accidents as well. Don't stereotype. Not all truckers are doped up murderers on wheels, just like not all young people are punks.

Also, cellphones are illegal in DOT vehicles. Well, unless you have hands free Bluetooth. But he's right, I drive everyday from Texas to Oklahoma. It's better to have a cb and not need it then to need it and not have it. I don't have one in my personal truck, and I don't drive bigger trucks much anymore. The chances are highly likely that the wreck is caused by the smaller vehicle then the DOT vehicle, and I'd say majority aren't on drugs. I get drug screened pretty often, atleast once a month, most of the time they use my hair. Also, I have to take a ton of breathalyzer tests.

Ah, I thought you were saying something different. You have a solid point though.

Indeed. I talk to big rigs and help them determine the best route to go because I have GPS on my phone with the live traffic patterns. They really do appreciate it and 99% of them are respectful. CB radios are decreasing in personally vehicles a lot, but I still get those truckers that pull up next to me and put a 1 and 5 on their hand and we tune into channel 15 and they ask why I have it, or they just wanna start a conversation.
