Default My first truck "11 Fx4 5.0

I had a 2011 5.0 mustang which I loved. Had no problems with the engine and it ran amazing. Had and intake and tune and full suspension done (steeda springs, koni sport dampers, MM caster camber plates, LCA's swaybars etc.) I blew the transmission after i put on ferrari f12 berlinetta tires (Potenza s007's in 315 35 20) and ford attempted to warranty repair it over 98 days, 3 attempts but it was still not 100% functioning. My warranty also expired and I was most likely going to break the transmission again. So i sold the car.

Pic of the old mustang in the shop with transmission issues :

Hard to sell but, I decided to do it and get a truck for a change of pace one would think - only the truck has the same year, same color, and same engine as the mustang. A 2011 Fx4 5.0. It has rims and 34 inch tires, I think it has a leveling kit. Then I added a JLT CAI, MPT race tune, and a raptor transfer case control module. Easy mods done so far. I also added the 5.0 mustang coil covers since ford didnt include the covers for the 5.0 truck engine (very sadly). I have a 5.0 engine cover now but havent attempted to do the hose re-routing yet, i need to buy the parts.

Anyone have the parts list for a 2011 full mustang engine cover install?

Heres a picture and short walk around video of the new truck

:

Next mods are 5.0 engine cover install, gatorback full fx4 mud flaps install, and installation rear wheel well liners. Also will be installing alpine type R speakers, amp and type S sub. Also researching tires , as i will need them before next summer. Any advice or comments are appreciated.

It was easy, but you have to have the right tool (socket) and get into a weird uncomfortable position for a while and do all the work with your left hand.

I found a guy who did it on youtube, and he said he followed these instructions. I did the same thing . http://www.f150online.com/forums/200...ff-trucks.html

I bought the raptor TCCM on ebay here http://www.ebay.com/itm/281559499977?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT part #AL3Z-7E453-DC

and the **** on ebay also here :

http://www.ebay.com/itm/231449665691?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT part #AL3Z-14B166-BA

Worked perfect on my 2011 fx4 which has a locking differential stock, but was only lockable in 4wd. And yes, i tried switching the **** out before the actual TCCM, that did not work and did not enable the enguagement of the locker despite the **** being pullable while in 2wd.

Im not really sure there are any practical benefits of being able to lock it in 2wd other than burnouts and possibly better drag strip launches and some offroad fun. I just didnt like not being able to lock it in 2wd and found out about the mod. I think 2013+ fx4 can actually lock it in 2wd stock.

Brand new for the oem hid head and wiring harness is around 1000-1600. You can find them used for much less, ebay, craigslist, here in the for sale classifieds...

Just remember the f150 is far heavier and the engine is a bit retuned compared to the'stang so you manage expectations. Otherwise it looks great and will be a great truck for ya.

I ran a 1/4 mile (timed by ipod touch) stock and it ran about a 16.07@90

After intake and race tune and a few tries and better weather it pulled off a 15.61@94.2 with a 7.22 0-60mph which felt amazingly fast for this big of a vehicle. This run had a 1/8th mile time of 10.32@73.7 mph

then i tried a 4wd hi and locked differential full brake power launch and pulled off a 6.82 0-60 mph and a 9.92@73.8 mph 1/8th mile . I had to end this run before 1/4 mile but it probably would have been low 15's.

My best in the mustang was around 12.5@116 mph, but this truck still far exceeded my expectations.

Congrats! That truck is definitely leveled. Looks like a rear block was added as well.
