I have a 2012 fx4. My air conditioner smells like antifreeze..the smell comes and goes. Ewwww what's that smell.

 

BG frigi-clean and frigi-fresh have always worked for me to get rid of ac system odors. I get it at the dealer I work for but you can get it here: http://www.gtfabrications.com/home.php?cat=24

Unless someone knows something else, that'll probably clear up the smell.

 

If in fact that it is antifreeze it would be a heater hose or your heater core. The hose is an easy solution. Core not so much. If you have been running your a/c on max all the time make sure you turn your control to vent for a while before shutting off your a/c. It will dry off some of the condensation in your evap box. If it stays closed up all the time it will get mildew in it. They make a cleaner and deodorizer for that so you can get rid of the smell.

 

If you think it's actually coolant, take it to the dealer cause you're under warranty.
