Default Are mud flaps really worth it?

Well, I was about to buy my wheel well liners on amazon, and started looking at the weathertech mud flaps. Are they worth the price?

I look at my truck as an investment, I want to keep it as long as it will run, and part of that is also keeping the exterior in good shape. Is it worth 70 bucks (front and rear) to get these?

Anyone have some and can show some pics? Do they fit with the oem chrome step bar? Will they cause issues if I level and get larger tires later on?

I just got oem ones installed today and I do have the oem step bars as well. My previous vehicle had them and I wanted to have them again for snow reasons. When you drive through enough of it, it builds up between the flaps and the tires. I figure it is better to have it there instead of in the undercarriage. Then when you get out of your vehicle you kick it off with your shoe pretty easily.

Hi Archer... I just installed the mud flaps and wheel well liners. However both of mine were the Ford oem and not the weathertech. I haven't had them in snow yet but so far I like them both. I have the factory chrome running boards as well and didn't have any clearance issues.

I have weather techs and they fit fine with my chrome step on my 2012. If you order them from weathertech, they are most concerned if you have the plastic wheel lip molding or not. I do not have that but i think most or all fx4's do. That would make a difference. They are great mudflaps. Wonderful in winter.

I just installed WeatherTech mud flaps and it was the first thing I got for the new truck I had them on my 2009 Lariat for 4 years and they looked the same after 4 years as they did new.
As far as adding larger tires you might rub the front mud flaps. I'm only talking about WeatherTech mud flaps. Everything I have ever bought from WeatherTech is top notch and worth the money.

Thanks for the replies. I don't have the plastic fender lip, just an XLT no FX or anything.

One last question, do the weathertechs fit well with the Ford wheel well liners, it looks like they may use some of the same holes for mounting.

I can't answer your question on the wheel well liner but I can say any place they have you remove the plastic rivet they give you a bolt to replace it.

I have read on here that they will work together without too much fuss. I think the wheel well liner goes in first, then add on the mudflap. I know this has been discussed before.

I thought I saw somewhere on here that someone had both installed with no issues, but I have no idea what thread that was in.

Anyways, ordered and all will be here by end of the week hopefully. Flaps were amazon prime eligible, unfortunately the liners were not, but still cheaper than buying them at my local dealership.

Edit: Found the thread with the pics, here: https://www.f150forum.com/f38/weathe...guards-222776/
