'09 XL up trim
On an incredibly tight budget, I got a good deal on an '09 XL Super Crew with the 24 valve, 6-speed AT, cruise, carpet, CD/aux options. The previous owner tinted the windows and replaced the alloy wheels (an original option upgrade) with a set off a Lincoln Mark LT (I've replaced the Lincoln branded centercaps with plain).
Since purchasing, I added automatic headlight switches ($47 and five minutes, as instructed by this forum) and made the no cost repair to the fuel tank door (again, thanks to the experts on this forum). I've ordered an F250 snorkel (for a modified Gotts Mod-per this forum) and new key shells that will allow me to insert the key fob electronics into a case that has an integrated key, which I will then need to have cut (I like as few things on my key ring/in my pocket as possible).
Cosmetically, I added leather seats and painted the bumpers and a new upper bumper valance, and added a snap-in ABS Chrome grille. My improvements ran about $1250, and I've added the things I prefer-and have gotten used to-in a vehicle, all on what I consider a minimal investment. Ready to ride!
