Microsoft to QNX blackberry upgrade?

I own a 2012 Lariat with the Gen1/Navigation Sync system. I have already decided is Ford does not update my system to read my IPhone 5s text messages, this will be my last Ford I buy. I would prefer CarPlay, but would be happy with a Sync update. In the end I don't think Ford really gives a damn about anyone but current year customers.

The two annoyances I have with the FordTouch system in my 2013 FX4 is no messages for iPhones and finding street addresses with voice commands.
I have yet to be able to get a street address with voice and it gets really frustrating when driving around somewhere unfamiliar and arguing with the Sync lady.

I have no problem with Sync.
My problem is the blood sucking Navtec and Ford charging a premium to have a Nav system yet don't provide free map updates.

I've got no issues paying for map updates provided they are reasonably priced. IMHO $200 is a little too pricey.

I've had very few problems whatsoever with my oem touchyscreen. My USB music runs through my ipad, my droid maxx connects every time, and nav does what I want. Only issues are the occassional random place that isn't in the database, but inputting the address works.

My wife has an Escape with Sync and has Iphone 5 message reading, it was a bit of pain everyone said it would not work but I followed a tip and it does now. I'll look for instructions I used.
Found Them
FYI if you follow these instructions to a Tee Iphone IOS 7 will read incoming text but you cannot use canned messages. Works perfectly incoming.
The sequence seems to have a large part of it working or not.
1) Truck - Delete phone from BT device list.
2) Phone - Delete Sync from BT connection list.
3) Phone - Reboot. (Do steps 4 & 5 while you wait for this to finish)
4) Truck - Turn off, pull the key, open the door.
5) Truck - Close the door, restart.
6) Truck/Phone - Pair your phone fresh w/MFT. Let it finish.
7) Phone - Turn BT off.
8) Phone - Turn BT on.
9) Truck - Hit "connect" on the MFT screen to reconnect BT.
10) Phone - Go into the BT Profile Settings screen for Sync (little arrow to the right of Sync, in Settings, Bluetooth)
11) Phone - Set Notifications to "On".
12) Phone - Back up a screen and turn BT off again.
13) Phone - Turn BT back on.
14) Truck - Hit "connect" on the MFT screen again to reconnect to phone.
