Microsoft to QNX blackberry upgrade?
Even reading that ford finally split the sheets with Microsoft and will be using blackberry QNX. Anyone know if the older systems will be able to get flashed to the QNX so we can ditch the crappy microsoft.

Blackberry says that it is in fact possible to upgrade our Sync systems relatively easily at the dealer level if FoMoCo is willing to foot it. I really think Ford should step up and make this right for us but my faith is pretty lacking these days with corporations in general.
I wonder if it would even be cheap enough for users to pay for it out of their pocket. The only way it'll ever happen is if there is enough of a demand for it. So I encourage everyone who is interested in upgrading their Sync system to QNX that you post here. We should also forward this thread to Blackberry / QNX to show them there is a real demand.

I know my nav in my 2013 sux really bad. It's useless trying to use the speech to get a POI. Not to mention the times it's way off and Showing me about 300 ft from where I actually am. If the seats had ac controls separate I'd definitely get an aftermarket unit.

I'd pay good $$ to be rid of Microsoft in both of my vehicles. Didn't want MS in them in the first place but the functionality provided is what I was after. It mostly works but would be 10000x better without the cancer known as Microsoft.

I would absolutely want the upgrade even if I had to pay a few hundred to get it. Otherwise, I'll eventually get a third party radio that supports CarPlay or Android Auto, and any/all third party adapters to ensure full functionality is retained.
