I'd advise steering clear of any of those aftermarket headlights. If you want some that look cool and perform better than most on the road, you need retrofitted lights.

If your mind is completely set on getting one of the two above, get CCFL. They're brighter than the cheap LEDs they use.

Remember, you get what you pay for!

Totally understand you get what you pay for. Thanks. I'm not dead set on getting the Recon, just have not had a bad product from them yet. so figured i'd give it a try and put HID in them. Thanks again

My recon headlights were a disaster. And it wasn't uncommon. I would've felt horrible selling those things to someone so ended up just throwing them out

Thanks. Is this a common problem? If so yup would think the company would fix it. Everyone. Says retro fit. Not really my thing if it's what's best than no choice or continue with stock. Thanks again

There actually IS so much you can do with a retrofit.
From all the different projectors: http://www.theretrofitsource.com/index.php?cPath=25

To halos: http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...ducts_id=14906
http://www.oraclelights.com/automoti...ACLE-Halo-Kits

To all the different ways you can paint everything:

Which completely outnumbers the possibilities of aftermarket headlights.

I don't think he understands what retrofit means or he's just not wanting to spend that kind of coin.

OP, I went with a set of Spyder heads. I got them off another member actually.... and I have mixed feelings. The high beams do not satisfy me by any means. The lows are better than stock but aren't crazy awesome or anything. The halo's are very dim...... very. Almost not noticeable when on just by themselves. I thought they would have been a bit brighter. That being said, I really didn't expect amazing results from them, though I do like them better than stock. If I had the money for a retro.... I would have done it. If you have the money, retro is BY FAR the way to go IMO. Good luck with your decision!
