Default May have found my rough idle issue..

I did a plug swap to correct an idle issue.. now its way worse.. gapped .030 and kept thinking what could it be. I purchased a new gapper from autozone the round kind. My other one is the stuck kind and I started to wonder if the chrome plating on it throw off the measuremetn.. sure enough a plug at .032 on my chrome stick style is .025 on the round autozone one. I am going to pick up a feelers gauge to verify but I have a feeling that is my problem. Makes me wonder how many others out there ran into an issue like this?

This is the one I have that I think is incorrect.

The slide ones like that, straight or round, are annoying and probably will damage iridium plugs. Couple reasons to avoid.

I have the rough idle on my 12. The plugs were replaced around the 20k mark and the truck now has 40k.

I often wondered this myself. If I didn't gap them properly as I used a cheap round gauge. The next set I put in I will use feeler gauges so I know they are spot on.

Could it be the COP coils? It seems they cause a similar issue.

So I just did the plug gap and found most were .025.. picked those back up to .030. Now it feels worse.. doing a battery pull to try and reset the computer. I am so lost. I cleaned all the MAF sensors.. I corrected the gap and I drilled the weep hole... im throwing no codes but the idle is ROUGH.... What else can I do? Only thing I didn't do was new boots on the coil packs. or replace the coil them selves which is SUPER expensive.

EDIT: Did the computer reset seems a little better.. still has a little shake to it.. but ill give it some time. My buddy owns a mechanic shop is going to check cylinder contribution. I mean it could very well be Valve coking. My Weep hole is spitting out oil.. a decent amount.. probably getting out what has been building up in there I assume. Might be time for a catch can also.
