Max tow package

I just bought mine last week and it came with the tow package...I don't know if it's max or not...but it has the trailer brake controller, trailer sway control, trailer tow package and a locking rear diff/axle...I don't tow, so I don't need this stuff but that is the way it comes with the Group 302A package...the axle is a 3.55...I have no idea if the 3.73 is the preferential rear diff or the 3.31...but someone here will know..BTW, that 302A package adds $4K to the window price...which is ALWAYS negotiable

I have a 2012 Screw 4x4 XLT 5.0 short bed w/3.55 rear. My gvwr shows as 7350, and payload as 1625, front axle 3750 and rear axle 3850. I intentionally passed over the Lariat and Platinum because it hits your payload so badly with the options. The 5.5 bed gets you a little bit of payload back.
I tow a 30' Jayco TT that's 7500 loaded with 850 hitch weight, depending on how I load it. I use a 1k/10k Equalizer hitch. Moves the trailer fine, but I'm sure I'm close to my limits. It sits level for the most part, the hitch does a great job of distributing the weight,
I'm happy with the 5.0 w/3.55 combo....

Love2, this is copied direct from the tech specs of the truck in Warner Robins you're looking at with the 6.2:
Wt Distributing Hitch - Max Trailer Wt. (lbs): 7500
So, that truck's rated to tow 7,500 lbs with the weight distributing hitch. I'd pass on that one if I were you. It's listed as internet price of almost $40K, I think you'd do better getting a new Ecoboost which is proven to tow your trailer with no problems. I wouldn't worry a by about longevity of Ecoboost engine. It'll last.

This is a 6.2L Lariat truck equipped with the max tow package; it has an 11,300 towing capacity. As long as the VIN is correct you should be fine. As I posted above, you can see the window sticker for that exact truck below:

NOT a limited! So it will tow your trailer.

love2, well, now hold on a minute again! Old Tom might be right. Only thing I know to do now is check in owner's manual in truck to see what towing capacity will be. Or, maybe if that is the VIN for the truck, there should be a way to check.

So the Wt Distributing Hitch - Max Trailer Wt. (lbs): 7500 what would that mean?
So ok you guys, would you or would you not tow my camper with this.

I have figured that wife and I have a migraine. Ok let me get NASA on the phone to figure out those numbers. I feel like I am on The Price is Right and playing a game where I pick a number.
So the Wt Distributing Hitch - Max Trailer Wt. (lbs): 7500 what would that mean?

Exhibit 1: the window sticker for this particular truck:
Note the 6.2L V8 engine, 3.73 rears, and the max tow package. Note the 18" wheels, the lack of "Limited" terminology and all the limited goodies.
Exhibit 2 from the 2011 Order Guide:
Note the limited comes with 22" wheels, smoked headlights, and lots of other exterior goodies.
Exhibit 3: The Truck in Question(TIQ)
This truck does not have 22" wheels, smoked headlights, or limited badge on the bed. But it does have 18" wheels and the tow mirrors that come with the Max Tow package.
Exhibit 4: The 2011 Ford Towing Guide
Note that trucks with the max tow package can tow 11,300 lbs, but trucks with the Lariat Limited can only tow 7,500 lbs. The TIQ does NOT have the Lariat Limited package, but most certainly does have the Max Tow package.
The prosecution rests. This truck most certainly will tow 11,300 lbs because I have proven beyond a reasonable doubt that this truck does NOT have the Lariat Limited package but does most certainly have the Max Tow package.
This post took me about 20 minutes to put together, I hope it satisfies your curiosity.

Thank you counselor, I believe the defense rests here as well. Guess we are taking the trip down this weekend to look at it and lets make a deal.
Thank you for that explanation, NASA could not have done it better.
I feel so educated now
