I ordered mine because we go to the drive ins all the time and my wife used the cooler to step up in the bed. Ive ben waiting for the cooler to roll out from under her and faceplant the tailgate. Never happened. Now the the new step is like the trailer hitch, if you forget its there walking around the corner of the truck bye bye legs.

Makes a great work bech when you are out on the job site looking at drawings or writing stuff down. Sit on the step and the tailgate is the perfect height!

Real men don't need a step!

Seriously though. I completely forgot about this option when I ordered my truck. Didn't hit me until a week later. I could benefit from it, I'm only 5'6.

I thought it was lame as all he!! When I first saw it. I'm a big 6'2" man and I've been jumping in and out of trucks since I was a kid. The step is great because you don't have to worry bout dragging your boot toe up the bed above the wheel well when climbing in.

It's also good for those hard days on the job site where you really don't have the energy to climb into the bed.

didnt think Id ever use it so I didnt get it. Im 6' but these new trucks are so tall that after climbing in the bed a few times I was kicking myself for not getting it so I got an amp research one for 160$ from amazon.com. love it and use it all the time, still wish I had the ford factory one though, footrest while tailgating sounds awesome!

Thumbs up

For me, the man step is one of the best options my truck has. I'm well on in years and although I can still hop up on the tailgate, it's "much" easier on me to simply walk up into the bed of the truck.

When I bought my 150 (almost one year ago), I had intended to wait for the 2011's but needed a truck asap. The Man step was a 'must have' option! Being that I had to choose from 2010's already in dealer lots as the time had passed for factory orders, the only option I wasn't able to get was the 6.5 bed, and believe me, I could've used that extra foot many times this past year!

But all in all, my 2010 is one fantastic truck! Absolutely no issues at all!
