I was just doing some fluid checks and filling washer fluid after cleaning the truck and the shield around the manifold on the passenger side was just laying there clearly unattached.

I don't think its a big deal, just wanted to share.

 

It looks like you have an 09 or 10, my 2010 4.6 3v manifold shield on the passenger side came off just like yours. I'm sure it's a cheap part to replace but not super vital.

 

Yep 2010 stx 4.6l 3v. Mounting holes rusted out. Drivers side looks fine.

 

Did you hear any rattling or anything indicating it was off?

I hear a buzzing sound when my 11 5.0 is under a load, sounds like two pieces of metal clinging together for a brief second. I need to take a gander underneath her I suppose!

 

Nope not at all it fell and was kind of wedged in. It was hard to take out had to twist it a little to pull it out.

 

Mine came off as well about a year ago. 2010 XLT.
